He has been Vice Chairman of the Board of Bancorp and Cathay Bank since 2014, and a Director, Chairman of the Board, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Cathay Bank Foundation since 2005. He was Chief Operating Officer of Bancorp and Cathay Bank from 2003 to 2014, and Executive Vice Chairman of the Board of Bancorp and Cathay Bank from 2003 to 2014. He was the Chairman of the Board of GBC Venture Capital, Inc. from 1997 to 2014 and President and Chief Executive Officer of GBC Venture Capital, Inc. from 2003 to 2014. Prior to joining Bancorp, Mr. Wu was a co-founder, Chairman of the Board, President, and Chief Executive Officer of General Bank and its publicly-held bank holding company, GBC Bancorp, until they merged with Cathay Bank and Bancorp in 2003. Mr. Wu received a Ph.D. in Mathematics. He has been a Director of Bancorp and Cathay Bank since 2003.
